Symposium Location

Registration

  • To register for this Symposium. please refer to the registration form in this brochure and use one of the following methods:

  • Include your completed registration form. Out of state participants must submit a purchase order. No credit cards can be accepted.

  • Mail: Kansas Fire and Rescue Training Institute. Attn: Kansas HazMat/WMD Symposium, 1515 St. Andrews Drive, Lawrence, KS 66047-1625.  Mail your completed form with payment (out of state participants only) or submit a purchase order. Checks should be made payable to the  Kansas HazMat/WMD Symposium. No credit cards can be accepted.

Lodging

  • The headquarter hotel for the 2007 HazMat/WMD Symposium is the Sheraton Overland Park at the Convention Center. A special room rate of $109 plus tax has been reserved for participants (1-4 in a room) of the Symposium. Individuals must make their own reservations. To obtain this special room rate you must reserve your room NO LATER THAN 5 PM ON OCTOBER 25.2007. When making your reservation let them know you are attending the KS HazMat/WMD Symposium. Call 866-837-4214 to make your room reservation.

Fees

  • There iS no fee for Kansas participants.  Out of state participants $50 per day.

  • Participants attending the HazMat Operations course and wanting certification from the Kansas Fire and Rescue Training Institute will be charged a $50 fee if a Kansas firefighter and $100 for all other allied professionals.

EMS CEU's

  • Participants attending workshops during the Symposium will be eligible for EMS CEU's from the Kansas Board of EMS. Out of state participants should check with their state agency to see if these CEU's are transferable.

  • Vendors will be present on Friday, November 16th from Noon - 8 p.m. at the Overland Park Convention Center. Take time to visit with manufacturer representatives on equipment and new products to assist you in HazMat and WMD response.
